Here Here! I've been listening to EDM since I was in Junior High. Although, I have also listened to EDM under the intoxication of Alcohal and or MDMA, most of my EDM listening is while completely sober. |

My fiancee might not be one who knows the IDs to tracks, but she definitely knows her DJs and she definitely gets into specific tracks that she goes nuts when she hears it in clubs. And her ipod is 90% full of EDM. :p
Trance is how we found each other.
She doesn't really like anything outside of trance, though...I also like prog house, breaks, etc etc...she's not into that...just trance. :-p
The ultimate EDM baby will be born in August. He or she will grow up with EDM all around him or her. :p |

As I previously mentioned, Progressive House makes the ladies run away here; but Trance does not. Do you guys know any case that a lady REALLY does like Progressive House, it seems to be of mythological existence here? :p |

i don't know about you but in NY Clubs, when acts play Progressive House it's never a sausage fest, actually you'll find a ton more girls at a progressive house party than a trance party. Trance Parties in NYC cater to 18+ crowds =T (ie: tiesto, armin) |

heh here in so cal there is nothing other than raves that cater to 18+. pretty much everything here is 21+ club oriented. too bad there arent enough girls out. most of the ones that are at the clubs and are hot are taken. the rest are just not my type. |

most obsessives whether it be metal, baseball, stock car driving, etc are mostly men. Women tend, in stereotype, to be more social and into people, relationships and emotions. So if they are into trance, it's about people, clubbing, experiences, memories. not the usual nerdy male mix of wrapped discs and minutiae.
Further, in most of america, except miami, trance is passe. people 35-40 (which i am too btw) are into trance because that's when it was kids, 1990 or so. Most trance addicts in the U.S. have to be old enough to remember experiences nearly 20 years passed. simply, they had to be at least 15 years old back some 20 years ago, hence 35 ish.
we think you kids living a retro music are as amusing as you think we are.
in europe, this is different because trance mainstreamed and became a genre. which is very cool. didn't happen in u.s. though. and i think the phenomenon in europe is short-lived, but i don't know the future. |
