I just got a call today letting me know I got a spot of 3000 for the 2006 Degree Poker Championship. Although its going to be extremely difficult to make it to Day 3, and make it on TV, its definately worth booking off work as the winner takes home 100,000 dollars. Today was the last day of draws, and I was one of 527 people who got selected. This is very sudden for me since I just took a two month hiatus from poker as I wasnt working, and didnt want to play poker without having a reliable job for all my bills (rent,internet, gas, insurance...yada-yada), now im gonna have to play alot to practice again and get myself back into the proper mindset (even though Ive been playing for 3 years hehe) for this huge tournament which starts up in a few weeks.
Anyhow, I can barely hold my excitement that I got entered let alone if i win, theres is definately a celebration night to be had! |

I wanna know how you applyed for it in first place?
Did you have to play some poker to get some credits before applying or is it just a draw...

It was a complete random draw, I had a bunch of buddies who had tried and none of them got calls or emails. They basically email you and call you to make sure you know and leave you a message to fax them for your spot. Luck of the draw is really what happened, and oh, I went to Degree Poker Website and signed up.
What had happened is that my buddy had gone to Fallsviews Casino like a month ago and told me about the tournament starting up again, and to go to the website to apply. I remembered seeing it on TV last year and thought how lucky it would be to win 100,000 bucks without paying a cent yourself. Anyhow, I told as many people I knew who play poker about trying to get a chacne to get in. |

so are we and we've decided on buying a big ball of crack in order to lead an army of crackheads to take over canada. once we gain control we shall mass produce crack and do the same thing in every other country creating crackhead revolutions until we rule the world.
and we're gonna invest some of the money in RSP's |

the exact hand i got in a very similar tourament (2nd hand into the game)
3 people go all in ahead of me pre flop.......what was i supposed to do?
of course someone hits trip 5's and im out in 2 hands. |
