I'm hoping for the same thing. Ferguson is useless as a GM, he doesn't have a clue what he's doing.
They really need to bring someone in here with some prior experience like Montreal did with Gainey.

Good riddence, hopefully they will hire someone who will get some young players

Kinda sad. He's from Hamilton. Nice guy overall. But yes, I see the reasoning.

unfortunately Ferguson isn't going anywhere...you don't fire the coach and then the GM.....if they were to get rid of Ferguson then they would have fired him first and let the new GM pick the coach. With Ferguson at the helm....the ship is going down.

I'm not a Leaf fan, but i cheer for them since they're Canadian....
Quinn was not the problem. Honetly, who can they POSSIBLY
hire that will do a better job? Who? Answer: no one

The Leafs will get WORSE unless they make a MAJOR sigining or 2

I feel sorry for Quinn yes, in that he was given a hodge-podge group to work with.
But after 7 years you'd think he would have been able to do something with what he was given.
It's not like he didn't have a say in the hiring process either I'm sure.

Then shouldn't they get rid of Ferguson, since he's responsible for these things??

Firing Quinn was pointless. They guy could only do so much with what Ferguson gave him

the ferguson press conference was classic! best question from steve simmons

" how do you explain that the leafs started playign well when all of your signings were out of the line up!"
