I can see Theresas point but I always thought an alcholic was someonw who couldn't stop drinking once they started untill they were falling down piss drunk

That is another sign of an alcoholic, but isn't the only factor.
Seriously, if you have become dependant on alcohol to relax you, or make you feel better after a bad day, then you show sure signs of being an alcoholic.
Hope you can sort that out before it becomes dangerous. |

Actually most alcholics are not falling down piss drunk...in fact most can function daily while being drunk and you would not even know they were drunk. |
