I was considering putting together a weekend beach getaway in galveston strictly for TXTAs as sort of another one of those, fun things we can all do without it being a club event.
Basically the way it would breakdown is those who would want to stay overnight or the weekend would go in on a beachhouse rental and we'd setup decks and a little system and have ourselves a small intimate beach/beach house party for the weekend. I've done this before (not with you TAs of course) and it went off pretty well. Everyone brings booze and whatnot and we got the tunes,booze and bbq goin for the weekend.
I think if we planned it out far enough in advance for the summer, we could get most everyone in on it and it would be a real fun time!
Does this sound appealing to anyone? |

Well, in my case I don't have much of a choice, as I have another year in Iraq looming before Halloween. Breaks of the job dictate my funtime schedule, and late July - early August is about the only window I've got left, since all of June is screwed by my NTC rotation to Ft. Irwin, CA, and mid-August we start packing and prepping for ship-out. It'll be 2008 before I'll get to do anything TXTA-ish after that. :wtf: |

I do want to see/do/attend a totally-TA thing before I go, though, as well as make at least three or four more gigs. I've got 30GB of space on the Creative Zen Nomad to fill with mixes that will tide me over for the deployment, plus what's on the laptop's hard drive, but there's nothing like seeing live sets, so the more of them I can inundate myself with, the better. |
