2 Channel Mixers

Hey everyone, I'm looking at getting a 2 channel mixer and am considering the following:

Rane TTM 56
DJM 400
Nuo 2
Mackie D.2
Hm, lets throw the Urei 1601 in there as well

Which one of these would you recommend? Are there any others that I should consider as well?

Thanks for your help. :)

Ok. well me personally, i own a Rane TTM-56. It's an amazing mixer. everytime a new mixer comes out i feel the faders to see how they compare. as of yet, nothing i've ever laid hands on comes close to the butter slick feel of the Rane faders. This mixer is just as good for mixing as it is scratching. the adjustable contours on the channel faders make it as though they were twice as long as they really are. as dude earlier said, TTM-56. You won't regret it.

Do not forget:

Pioneer DJM-707
Rodec scratchbox
Vestax PMC-008

and many more

TTM56 without a doubt. If you have to the choice to get a TTM56 there shouldn't be any other choice. Gotta go with what works.

Thanks for the input. Looks like Rane wins hands down... only downside is its cost :(

If cost is an issue the DJM400 seems like a good deal. It's a digital mixer (24 bit/96 Khz), and has lots of features for a good price. You can find it for around $599, but the availability right now is quite limited. I might get one next year...to replace my PCV 275, don't think i'll be needing a third channel.

I am extremely satisfied with the build quality on my pioneer djm707

Definately the Nuo 2.

The build quality and sound is as easily as good as the Rane. Plus its a lot cheaper and has kill switches. The faders on them glide like butter.

I'd be curious about the Mackie too?! Never had a play on one, but would be keen to see what its like.

Yeah I would imagine so. They've been at the pro audio buisness for long enough, I'm sure they'd know how to put together a DJ mixer :D The firewire connectivity sounds prety interesting too

Well, it all depends on what you need and how much you wanna spend.

If you NEED a scratch mixer, the you should be looking at the Rane, the Urei and the Mackie (as well as the Vestax 07/08 and Ecler HAK 360)

But if you're just looking for a basic 2 channel mixer, than the Pioneer and the ECLER NUO2 are great for this application.

The NUO2 is a great all around mixer, with its great sound quality, kill switches, adjustable curves and balanced XLR outs. If you like FX, then the DJM-400 has those, but you can always get an external FX box and add it to something like the NUO2
