A day of commemoration............
April 24 1915................
About 1.5 million Armenians were massacred from 1895 to
1923, and the world closed its eyes while a nation was
being exterminated. Their memories will serve as a reminder of what prejudice, racism, nationalism and false progressivism can do if not confronted. Armenian heroes and heroines gave their lives to save shattered Armenia and its tortured people. Ottoman Turkey could not erase Armenia from the face of the earth despite all the efforts of its bloodthirsty Talat and Enver Pasha who organized and ordered dislocation and killing of the Armenian population in Ottoman Empire. The fact the they did not accomplish their evil objective is that
Armenia still exists today! And to this day Turkey denies the Armenian genocide happened, but history cannot be hidden or rewritten. Our (as Armenians and as human beings)mission is to raise consciousness about this tragedy and fight for its official recognition worldwide.
There will be numerous protests today in and around the Hollywood and West LA area.....Also there are protest held annually in front of the Turkish consulate and anywhere else that need be...A vigil also will be held in memory of our loss @ the Memorial Statue "yeghern" in Montobello....For any information guys i urge you PM me, for anything and i mean anything about this matter (ie Protest locations and times, general info, anything @ all)..........
If you guys are to busy with your weekly schedule and cant make it out to anything, i urge you at least to do what you can @ home....
There is a petition going around currently that requires signatures from people like you who actually give a about this matter...
