if you havent given them any money your still a winner. once replied to an ad in the paper and it turned out to be a steak knife scheme. :o |
i called that same number, about 2 years ago.
less than 8 hours later i get a call back telling me i 'must' come to the 'preliminary' meeting in order to 'get the ball rolling.'
intrigued, i pursued the matter. turns out the 'office' the meeting took place at was a spare room in the back of an already-sketchy beauty salon about the size of my bedroom closet.
same deal as you guys have posted... invest money, yada-yada-ya, "not-a-pyramid-scheme," blah-blah-blah. there was no way in hell i was plunkin down $400 for some steak knives as a means to sell my relatives a sheisty-ass telecom service :wtf:
stay away! unless you have this need to brainwash everyone you come in contact with
lady: "If you don't feel right about telling your family and friends you need their help, just tell them it's for your future. If they don't help, they obviously don't care about you, and if they don't care about you, you don't need them in your life!"
:wtf::wtf::wtf: |

my aunt is big time into these things. its rediculase....... first it was meluca.... a vitamin supplement pyramid company, now its some by some dude named t harv ecker.... apparently its somethign do do with selling add space on radio in florida or some bull. anyways this guy my aunt knows came for dinner one night and tried to sell this to me. saying that if i invest 500 dollars iwth this crap i get the equivalent of 25% interest....
when he failed to explain to me how a company can keep in business if they are giving me 25% interest on my dollar annualy, i laughed so hard i had to leave the room. since then my aunt and i dont talk about her hokey business ideas. she is obessed with getting rich quick. every book in my damn house has something to do with being a millionaire for not doing anything.... |

so yah..3 weeks ago this dood approaches me at work going "hey man, my names ben, i just started my own business and im 22" blahblah then tell sme hes going to retire in 5 months, thats right the mofo said retire and wanted me to become a prospect in his business..so as the vulnerable idiot i am..we exchanged numbers..little did i know, i went to this meeting at a hotel tonight (just got back) where some dood went on and on about how copying a business model will make you big bucks in the long run..going on and on about u start a business, you refer your friend, your friend refers a friend and so forth till eventually u got chain of people making you money. also introduced sucess stories of people all pimped out in real nice suites whose average age was 22 who were about to retire using this so called 'business model'. i did some research, to find out this is called multi level marketing (not a pyramid scheme which they emphasized a load at the meeting) and the company that runs these meetings throughout the us is quixtar/amway. has any1 else ever been a victim of this scam? thoughts, comments etc? |
Lol, it was probably Quixtar. I went to one of their business meetings about 2 years ago because of a friend and I almost fell for their marketing plan. They just present the whole deal so well.
My roommate had a friend who fell for this and he told me all about it and so I decided to opt out.
I don't blame you for falling for it, just thank yourself that you got out of it quickly. Its scary mate.
They make slaves out of people by selling them dreams of getting rich. |
