Dell.ca's having 7 days of sale this week.. Today's the first day.. You might catch a good deal on monitors. I told my sister to get a 17" from dell a couple months back. $240... BUT! 3 year warranty. Manufactured by Samsung and well supported.

I bought a Viewsonic VX2025WM 20" LCD widescreen monitor 2 weeks ago. No complaints. Has good rating, according to some online reviews. $499 plus tax. IMO not a bad price to pay in comparison to compareable models. Here's the store info if you're interested. Good luck.

highly recommended.

I've dealt with two of their locations over the years...great service, very knowledgable and good prices!

go to this forum...there is a "deals" forum where people post the lowest prices they've found in Canada on LCD monitors and TVs:

http://www.digitalhomecanada.com/

FWIW, I've had a 19" Samsung LCD (192N, I think) for about a year and a half...great quality, no problems, and they have local approved warranty centres across the city if you need service (as opposed to having to ship your monitor somewhere). I picked it up at Future Shop on boxing day '04 for a riduclously price ($50 mail-in rebate + $150 off the normal price).

Although dell.ca has the 7 days of business deals on this week, their new '07 LCD monitors (i.e. 1907FP, 2007FP, & 2007FPW) appear to be suffering from serious colour banding issues.

I wouldn't recommend a Dell for 20" widescreen, unless you can find last year's model (2005FPW) somewhere!
