Need help from all you tune id heads. Can anyone ID any of the tracks on here. The only one I can ID is Lost Tribe - Gamesmaster. Anybody?

Right After “Gamemaster” I’ve spotted Chakra “Home”. You might know Chakra from one of their other aliases like Ascension, or as The Space Brothers.
Later in the set (around the 41 minute mark) is Space Frog “Follow Me”. Almost identical to another track he released at the time called “I Feel Your Pain”. That dude you hear doing the spoken vocals is known as The Grim Reaper. George Acosta and DJ Wag used him on some of their tracks too.
The track around the one hour mark sounds like a Perfecto Allstars remix, of the Pet Shop Boys “Somewhere”
Damn, I can’t remember the name of the last song on there, but I know I have it at home somewhere.
You’ll notice that the average speed/BPM of a Trance record back then was faster.
It was even FASTER in the mid 90s, oftentimes clocking in 150 BPMs or above.
By the late 90s though Trance slowed down to around 140 BPMs while Progressive House speeded up to about 137 BPMs. That’s part of the reason why they both were confused as the same thing for a while. |

Okay, the last track on this set is Johnny Shaker "Pearl River".
I knew I had it somewhere - Seb Fontaine Prototype 1 (a subsidiary of the Global Underground series). |

i think that's less the records themselves, more the DJs pitching them up (around this era, anyway.. chakra, sundance & gamemaster are all around 137bpm). trance DJs mostly seemed to spin faster back then i've noticed... i'm guessing tempo is inversely proportional to age :tongue2
i miss when the big names used to spin that fast. tiesto's energy 2000 set hovers around the mid-late 140s for the most part and armin's 03-09-2002 godskitchen set goes from about 143 to 150 (imho his best set ever). pvd still does it on occasion.. mainly at big festivals i've noticed |
