another note.. i'm not looking to be cheap ass with those "dj in a box" things (unless someone can really recoomend one) and there's no way i'm ready for the high end gear yet (both as a dj and finacially) so i'd like ideas on stuff that will geat me going, and be nice enough for a couple of years.. thanks in advance!! |

I dunno if u can get em in da States, (I live in the UK) but I would recommend Some "Citronic PD-1s" with a "Citronic 7:2 Mixer". These are direct drives, obviously not as good as technics, but at a price of 345 pounds (not dollars) for the package, its a damn good deal :) |

hey-
well, while i cannot recommend any brand besides technics, i just thought i would drop my opinion into the matter. i would definetely reccomend dropping some more money into tt's now, than buying a quality mixer. you may already know this, but it will be a pain in the ass to upgrade your tables later, mainly because they cost more. whereas a mixer runs less, so it would be easier to get a higher quality one on your wallet. that's the advice i took, and it helped me out. i would also reccomend shopping around online, it's a lot cheaper than buying at stores, even with shipping. i got all my gear from Six Star DJ, good service and fast shipping. anyways, good luck :D |

Numark ones are pretty good, although in my country it's impossible to get hold of them- I can only read about them and form my own conclusions based on what I have gathered. Kam's KMX-300 is quite a good mixer to get, too, because it will last you a couple of years at least, is not high-end, and not too expensive. |
