thats just in typical that is!!..puttin the 1st blame on E!..i mean i reckon this guy probably did a cocktail of drugs n of which included GHB!.but E will get all the publicity as always!

I dunno, I think that's a fair statement. By ecstasy they mean the pill iteself and it's a possibility he took a dodgy pill aint it? Though I'd bet it's GHB. |

| Yeah the media are bastards. They'll recycle all the other old drug stories they've got aswell, and shoot their gobs before they get the facts in their jump before they think manner they seem to take on certain subjects. Like its ty the bloke dying and all that, but GHB (Gamma Hydroxide Butane?) is a date rape drug? I don't know much about it but I've read a couple of stories in dance music mags on it, but why would someone want to do something which is used by rapists even if it does get them really mashed, I wouldn't touch it with a 30 foot electrified barge poll with dog on the end. And E will always get blaimed the media have this idea that its a devils drug when it not, they'll jump on the case about E and say all these bull horror stories, but is there ever stories about the scum that take skag and nick peoples stuff? no because the media will always ing tar the dance scene with the drug horror brush time after time, because they know all about it and want to persecute people that have a good time, even if the scientific facts which I believe are proved about E they'll still create bull about it all, even if its another drug like this case looks, for some reason they'll still love spreading the bull about E. |

Sure sounds like a GHB reaction, but like Volksjoolz said - extasy will get the blame as per usual, even if they only detect trace amounts in the autopsy cos it is the media flavour of the month.

Not necessarily. The death at Golden last weekend was correctly blamed on GHB (edit: I say correctly, obviously I didn't do the autopsy myself). If you've been reading the papers you'll notice that GHB is getting a lot of press recently (especially after the Harry incident - lol!). Infact, if you ask me, E will soon be taking a back seat to GHB in the coming year as far as the press are concerned. |

Is GHB really that dangerous ?
GHB is usally an odourless liquid. It tastes salty and it is usually sold in small bottles. It is sometimes called liquid ecstasy, But it's quite a different drug from ecstasy - GHB is a sedative and it will work against any stimulants you have taken.
At lower doses GHB can have euphoric effects similar to alcohol and make you feel relaxed, happy and sociable. You usually feel horny on GHB.
However, GHB taken in higher doses can make you feel sleepy or dizzy.
It can also cause vomiting, muscle spasms and loss of consciousness.
Feeling sleepy in a club can be scarey or frustrating.
Overdoseing on GHB is potentially FATAL and most often happens when mixed with alcohol.
It's hard to take GHB sensibly because different batches can vary hugely in strength. If you are going to take GHB, take it in very small doses, a teaspoon, say.
It takes 10 minutes - and sometimes longer - to take effect and it will last for two to three hours.
And its after affects can last a day after taking the drug.
I am guessing that the guy @ the republic was a nOOb to GHB, was drinking way too much and took a too higher dose of GHB, the fact that crasher was over capacity did not help but should not be blamed for the way this guy died.
Fact is most ppl do their drugs before they get into a club anyway and also there is no way u will ever stop drugs 100% getting into a club.
IMO the worst drug out there, that takes 1000's of lives every year, causes misery and suffering to countless others thru abuse of it and abuse they give to others while on it is alcohol but yet its perfectly Legal and is sold everywhere.
