There is a fair amount of crowd noise on Paul Van Dyk's Gatecrasher Summer Sound System 2001 live set. Not to mention it is one of the best sets I've heard from Paul. It had me buzzing for hours afterwards, even though he was followed directly by Judge Jules! Infact, I think the Judge Jules set made Paul's set sound even better... but that's just mu opinion!

Hmm.. at least as far as the Oakey @ Gatecrasher set is recorded, it seems okay. for the most part, the air horns are only audible when there's a soft part in a song. the crowd does a pretty good job of only filling in during the breakdowns and such. I enjoy it. It just adds to the energy for me.. |

you REALLY shouldn't listen to what the crowd is cheering at the last 2001 mixes... it goes like HEEEEEEE HOOOOOOOOO
ask any dutch TA what's that like..... (it totally SUCKS)
usually 'enlish' sets are ok when it comes to cheering (oakenfold @ homelands (I believe it's 2000, dunno for sure though)

Yeah I love crowd noises in livesets. I guess if you want to listen carefully to a mix it's going to be annoying but it all just adds to the atmosphere for me.
