IT'S TODAY/TONIGHT!

You have to midnight tonight to file. Anything marked afterwards will be considered late and you'll pay a 5% late filing penalty on any amount you owe.

Payments not to be considered late (to avoid interest) need to be either electronicaly received or stamped by the bank today (WITH TODAY'S DATE!)

Note that around mid-day, 2-3pm the banks usualy switch over from today's date to the next day's date. Just be aware. ;)

Are you a CA? If you are, have you taken the CA review course or you did self-study?

I envy your patience....personally couldn't sit through my government/not-for-profit acc class. I liked my Intermediate ACC classes and Ind./ Corporate Taxation classes the most. Are the requirements for CGA as tough as they are for God damn CA/CPA?

The requirement are all pretty much the same. Bc of the CA Summer School requirement I find that CAs tend to have a little more in depth complicated corporate tax knowledge than CGAs on average will have (unless the chose to specialize in the tax stream at the end, as opposed two the 3 other options available to chose)

Also, the exit requirement isn't as profound as the CA UFE... but the work up to it and has become very comparable (where as in the past it never used to be, the CA route clearly had a more rigorous education requirement)

The CPA exit require is even worse than the CAs... 2 days 8 hours a day for CPA exam :eyes: :eyes: , vs. CA's 4 days 4 hours a day for the UFE

Im not sure which system I feel is better. The two tier system that exists in the states allow for some IMO retarded situatinos where CPAs would only be allowed to practice in certain states depending on where they got designated, as each states has DIFFERENT educational requirements to qualify as a designated CPA. There also are some states that dont let you be designated once you've passed before you have all your credit hours in, while the other half do.

I find their system to be too be needlessly unstandardized.

You're right every state has its own educational and experience requiremnets for CPA designation. I'm studying for my CPA exam now in MI....I've already passed two sections of it (Regulations & Business Environment Concepts), preparing for Financials and Auditiong (the most difficult ones). I finished schools both in Canada and USA....hopefully they count my Canadian credits too, that way I will have 153 credits (150 needed to get certified).

how do salaries for accountants in Canada compare to US?
Starting salaries are $40,000 - $ 45,000 for "right-outta school" candidates. Experienced CPAs = $ 80,000 +
