| TO guy |
| I used to insure my bike. I just used the same provider I had for home insurance at the time, I think it was State Farm, or maybe AllState, state something anyhow. |

| I'd call and check with whoever you use for home/renters insurance. I remember talking to somebody a few years back about how he had his RC cars insured (they can get pricey). So if he was able to insure his toys, I'm sure you can do the same. |

Insure it for sure... I lost everything last year.
See if you can get a rider on your parents car insurance... if that doesnt work the differences between insurer to insurer are slim i think... like $30 a month or that area. |

I have my main gear insured independently from guitar centre. This way it's not just covered if it's at home but also on the road against bang ups.
not sure if it covers theft though....
I know my home insurance covers theft if it is in my home and my car insurance covers theft if it is in my car. |

I think I paid about $60-$80 for 2 years to cover about $2,500 worth of gear. I can renew it when the time is up... actually thanks for the reminder I think its time is up shortly in a few months, I wouldn't have even thought about it.
I also dropped a about $200 for custom fitted cases (per case) to protect the two peieces on the road. one is an SKB and the other is a RoadReady case. I only bothered insuring the MC909 though. |

If you have Home Insurance or Tenants Insurance then your DJ Equipment should be covered under that policy. Even while off your premises these items would be covered as property temporarily away from premises. You will have to check the wording of your policy and the special limits of insurance as there may be a limit for electronic equipment.
If you use your DJ equipment for work then you will need to check your work policy as they would be covered there as the primary source of insurance.
Best thing to do is speak with your broker....even if its your broker for your auto insurance. They will be more then happy to set you up with a tenant or home owner insurance policy....plus you will get a discount for multi lines. |

yeah but sometimes filing a claim on those types of insurance can make your premiums jump higher than the cost of the gear. be sure to look close at your policy. |

after my first laptop got stolen... we got a separate insurance for just the laptop i think it costs us like 5$ MAX a month in addition to the house insurance which already covers it.. i'm betting its even less
but the separate insurance provides me more leeway for instance just under the house i have about 1500 for the laptop but with the separate one i have up to 2500 ..im not completely accurate because i didn’t handle this myself mom told me the minor details of it |
