I like the really open ended programs, stuff like reason, fruity, cubase etc put you in a structure that leads towards certain sounds, the construct somewhat dictates what you make in it. Things like csound, supercollider, max/msp are more like a blank canvas that doesn't lead you into certain sounds.
I made quite the hidieous piece yesterday with csound, but with a bit more work I think I can smooth it out and make it sound almolt pleasing, it isnt very dancable though. |
