That is really nothing more than binaural recording with some useless voodoo to it. I've been cutting some basic dummy-head recordings of orchestra-sessions for scientific use. You're starting to get paranoid as you hear someone in the original auditorium making a noise, you turn around and realize again your'e sitting in a recording studio listening to some sounds from a can and there really is noone behind you.
Problem is: playback only works with headphones, ideally some matched with the characteristics of the dummy-head. Mixing or panning in any way will destroy the spacial effect. Any effect applied to it will lead to VERY strange results. |
