He used to be the definition of tech-trance, with sets unmatched in quality and style. Together with Benjamin Kuyten, his productions used to have a raw, seductive power. Innercity 2001, with Godd as its theme, was simply staggering.
These days he's caught in some netherworld of electro-inspired throwaway tech-house. 200V is an embarrassment compared to Con:fusion. Don't even get me started on Red, Blue, Purple.
Magnitude. Recovered. Rise. That was Marco V. |

hahaha i love 200v and red blue purple is one of my faves of the album, i love new and old marco v, seems like benjamins style is coming out more these days though. simulated is the real ,

Yep, their productions are just not good as they were a few years ago. I think Marco is still a very good dj, and a nice person btw. His Qontact 2001 set is still one of my favorite sets of all time. Tolerance :crazy:
I heard Red, Blue, Purple played by Randy Kantana last weekend and the roof blew off.:D |

Anyhow, for the past couple years he seems to be a bit lost on which direction he wants to go into. He's doing everything from trance, to tech-house, to tribal. I remember one time I saw him long ago his whole first hour was just straight up tribal, then he kicked it into trance.
I don't think he's gone downhill at all, just going in different directions all at once...and what he's producing in each direction has been pretty good... |
