I saw this question rise on another thread and thought it needs a thread of its own...

What ever happened to good ol' games?
I loved puzzle games, building games, adventure games (esp. LucasArts) etc. etc.
These days it's all flashy 3d stuff...

There used to be games that got you addicted for hours and hours before you collapsed at 4am... these days I can't play more than 1-2 hours because all the action and 3d start to hurt my eyes...

(jeez, I'm only 18 years old and I talk s**t like this... I'm gettin' worried :toothless )

hey.. i'm 23 and i GREW UP with the good old games.. i am really sick and tired of games that are nothing but fancy graphics and no substance.. a lot of games nowadays don't really have much of that old feeling that you got to keep going and going and beat your score. now it's just like "oh i beat the game and saw the ending.. yay.."

ssx tricky.. is a fine example of a new game with flashy graphics and a awesome soundtrack that is still an AWESOME game.. i love it..

Yeah, there are still some games that just keep you glued to the game just to improve the score juuuuust a little bit... and then some more...

The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series is a good example...

But it's the puzzle/adventure games I miss...
