Final song within reason

Hi I need help within reason.
I always get to the point where I get a really good kick drum, bass, melody etc but I find it really difficult to sequence.
Is it better to write the track first and then create the different basslines etc?

Okay, what's the part of the loop you have that you think will generate the most interest in the song?
Got it? Start with that. Add and subtract elements as you go along as you see fit. Remember to pull back every so often to make your track last longer. Build up to a high point and then let things taper off until you get to your outro.
Once you get started on this, you'll come up with compositional ideas as you go along, and you can implement them, too.
Your first song won't be the next big hit, but that's not the point. Composition takes practice just as much as synth programing and sound making. |

i got same problem i get stuck in loops caus i find it fun while im doing it.
my idea is to start with the buildup almost at once u got a kick and a baseline and turn of the loop. its only then i actualy manage to finish a tune. |
i used to have that. But if the loop sounds oke and sounds building it up then it's safe to assume the song just sux.

Some producers like to make what they call a 'framework' for a track before they start adding the main lead sound. The thing you do is make the drums, bassline, pads, background noises before you add a lead and make a full 8-10 minute track that way. This gives you a lot of room to add details and variations that you wouldn't think of when the lead is dominating everything else. I'v just started doing this and it works wonders.
