The best value ever for a club night was Howells @ Pawn Shop during the WMC. 25 dollars for what ended up being over 11 hours of Howells

That PvD gig in 2002 that you mention was the turning point IMO. That's the first time I had seen $40 for a regular DJ night and it was somewhat justifiable given the fact that that was PvD's return to New York after a 1.5 year hiatus with Twilo closing and 9/11 and all.
After that though I think promoters realized they could start charging much more than they had previously thought and a lot more regular events have been going for $40 since then. |
