Ok. I picked up this project of Nou's a few months ago, and just got around to doing some final tweaks, and mixing, and mastering.
I added an element or two, fixed some low-frequency issues.
I think it sounds pretty good to me. It's done. Take a download and see what you think.

Hey,
commenting as I listen...
Kick, bass and beat are very basic. You might definately need to spice it up, maybe try layering your sounds. That clap sound is pretty cheap, and there could be more work on the hihats. Try some compression/reverb, eventually try other (better) samples.
First breakdown is really cool. Nice warm bass.
The bass sound isnt bad, but its offbeat character makes this one feel like Polka, sorry I have to speak this way :P ... there is not a problem with an offbeat bass per se, maybe you might consider using longer notes.
You definately need to spice up your percussion section. More percussive elements will help a lot.
3:17 ... it seems a little off sync here. Without the clap, its okay, but the clap is really pushing the rythm in a wrong direction here, dont know how to say it clearer.
Your breakdowns with the warm strings are very nice in here. Some cool stuff at around 5:00, works really well together.
covert was pretty much right, this one still feels kinda empty. It still needs more, mainly groove by the percussion. On the other hand, mastering and balancing of elements seems pretty good to me. Some nice layering you got also :)
Keep it up! |

Thanks for the reviews, I might try to get Nou to keep working on it. But I think he's moved on to other things.
If I get the time, I'll keep layering stuff and try give it more depth.
:)
oh and I'll send you the stuff covert... |

the intro is nice but very empty, this track is very chilled :].
the vocals are nice :).
like the acidy part.
the track feels really empty as others allready have been pointing out ;).
bassline is kinda weird ^^ almost feels a bit gabber stile ;P.
i like the melody youve made.

Hey man, listenin right now
you need to add some effects to your hats, for one thing ( reverb, some delay perhaps, a little panning doesnt hurt)
nice work on the strings. excellent vocal work as well.
as mentioned before you need some percussion, (hi hats mainly), and you could fatten up your bassline just a little bit. There's nothing wrong with using a very basic bassline if it has a real good sound :) i think with some work on the kick , bassline , and hats you could have yourself a real hot track here. The string work as I mentioned before is real nice, and the pad sounds are real good too.. listening to this.. i could really hear a bit of piano melody in the back ( maybe where you have the synth at now) or maybe combine both! anyways, nice work and keep it goin man! |
