its pretty much up for grabs whether Karl Benz (Germany) or George Selden (US) invented the first car. Benz's did come first so I guess Germany gets the nod, although Selden's car was much closer to what we have today so its a fuzzy area. Both were the first to run on gasoline I believe so I guess that's what makes them "cars" cause there was a French steam car much earlier than that which wasn't very practical. ;)
and OurManFlint, saying that American's don't care about anything that isn't superficial is a much dumber comment than my simple list of inventions. But congratulations on trying to sound smart and welcome to my ignore list. |

and yah i just threw those inventions out there, it was kinda rash on my part. I just see one of these very sketchy america is stupid threads all the time and I get really pissed how ppl can post things like they do knowing there are so many Americans who post here. I lived in France and its not like the people are any different, saying generalized comments like ^^^ are lame. |
You should know these things. It's general knowledge, otherwise you don't deserve to even get a job  there's dumb and DUMB ing illiterate bastards. OMG WHERE'S MY STATE??????? I'M SO ING LAME, BUT THAT DOESNT MATTER CUZ IM AMERICAN THAT MAKES ME COOL!!! |

Comparing historical successes to a current poll doesn't adequatly back up the argument that Americans are currently smart. It points out that currently, geographic locations are not as important as the latest episodes of lost or what their myspace page looks like or what the latest "thing" is, thus reflecting that the current American doesn't care about anything that is not superficial. |
