new mac g5...having major problems

i used to have a pc based studio setup then this week i got new mac g5 10 4 4 setup.so using the mac is all new to me.was hoping if anybody else uses macs could help me out in some way
the problems
1)it wont let me install any of my music programs ie reason 3, recycle 2.1 and few other soft synths.it comes up file errors.
2) for some reason it wont let me install my soundcard that i have been using with my pc setup. (novation speedio trackmaster) it does say on the box it supports mac os x
did anybody have these problems aswell when setting up there macs and how can i get around these problems so that my programs work and soundcard.

Mac and windows format is different (prob already know that).
You maay need a different .exe file (or whatever it's called) to boot the program up on the system. Assuming you bought the progs, I would have thought it'd be on the same disk.
If they are pirate, well... I can't help ya.
As for sound card, does the manufacturer say it is compatible with mac g5? If so, email them and see what they recomend. |

Why are you runnin' 10.4.4?
Make sure to download the latest osx update (10.4.6)

You might be trying to install the a PC version (.exe) on a Mac, hence it's not working. I highly doubt you have the original CDs, otherwise you wouldn't 've been having such issues.

Make sure to download all firmware updates, perhaps the CD that came with it, it's out of date.

@ ikki-zuvk...all my cds are the original copys of the programs and i only bought the soundcard last year.
can you tell me bit more bout this .exe file your talking bout.baslcally the mac is telling me to pick a program to unistall the programs and soundcard with.i thou the they should just unistall themselves into the harddrive. |

If you have a legitimate copy of Reason, the disc is cross-platform, so when you put it into your G5, you'll see the Mac version. If I remember correctly, just copy the Reason folder from the disc to the Applications folder on your hard drive, then open it from your hard drive to set it up and install the Factory Sound Bank and Orkester Sound Bank.
If you don't have a legit copy, you're most likely out of luck. ;p

i did all that and registered my copy.then when i went to opey up reason it would'nt open.it said reason wont open because the rite rewire was'nt installed proper something bout rewire and rewire 2..thats where the problem is.. |
