All it means is it is legal to have determined quantities of drugs in your possesion. Apparently most decided upon quantities are roughly half of what you would buy from a dealer. Because lets face it, you usually get caught when you are ed up anyways :p |
Oh, I see :) |

i dont see it that way.
if i dont do drugs, but see that drugs are now legal, i might consider doing them since i hear cool stories and i no longer have to worry about getting in trouble.
when i see that gay marriage is now legal, i did NOT want to give hand jobs and get pounded in the ass. |

Legal or illegal, cool stories or no cool stories, if someone wants to try a drug then he or she will try that drug. The only way I see "cool" having ANY effect at all here would be a scenario involving some junior high type kids. I would like to think that enough information is available today that any semi-responsible adult can research the issue and decide if toking up (or whatever) a couple of times a month (or a week for that matter) is in his or her best interest.
For God's sake, it can't be any worse than the legal government endorsed addictions that Big Pharmacy and/or Big Tobacco/Big Alcohol offers here in the states. Depressed? Trouble sleeping? Here, take 90 Xanax a month! Get hooked, be lethargic. We don't care because we receive taxes. Smoke 3 packs a day, we don't care. Get drunk and beat your wife, we don't care because we'll tax the alocohol and THEN tax you through the court/probationary system. But don't even THINK about toking a joint to help with stress. It's not chemically addictive, and we don't/can't tax it right now. No sir, we'll take your kids for that shiat.
It's a joke. I'm glad to see our neighbors trying this out. I am interested to see how things are a few years down the road. What will increase? What will decrease? What will stay the same?

I was speaking from a comparison standpoint regarding Aquarian's post. I was giving random reasons why a person would wanna do drugs...then I specified that the same thing would NOT happen in relation to gay marriages.
Even if it was a joke, I still agree with you. Marijuana is no more/no less harmless than millions of other products out there that are perfectly legal. |

| When I said "it's a joke," I was referring to our policy on drugs here in the States. Sorry for any confusion. This is one political issue I get a little sensitive about. I've seen people hooked to the gills on legal prescriptions, and that is a sad state of affairs. But they'll fine you, set you up a monthly payment and drug test, and threaten to take your kids if you get high on a beautiful Saturday morning before you decide to clean your house. WTF, America? |
