Mark Sherry Vs. James Allan - Biosphere/The Message [Detox]

Mark Sherry returns for his second co-release on Detox with James Allan.
This time around, I must say I am extremely impressed with this record.
I didn't quite like Red Alert, but this release is spot-on.
a) Biosphere - Very dark,eerie SVD-ish tech-trance. This will drive the livelier dancefloors. 8.5/10 Listen
b) The Message - In contrast to Biosphere, this release is quite deeper and has a harsh Precursor-style synth. The surprise bit is the beautiful melody in the breakdown. Simple, but very infectious. After the breakdown, the tune slams back into the very catchy bassline and carries on. A very original piece of tech-trance I must say. 9/10 Listen

Will check this out later when I can listen, I liked Red Alert and Detox are a good label. |

Biosphere is awesome, really dark slice of tech, very banging and had my head bopping on first listen, like varun said, very SvD in style. And good use of the snare, not to over the top.
Really strong track.

The Message, is more of a laid back affair compaired to Biosphere, and more minimal, it has some really cool sounds going on, i also love the spacey cosmic sound right before the break, and the vocal snippet, when the breakdown comes in, it comes in with great magnitude, and is fantastic, after it gets back to the minimal tech beats which seem to raise in level, and has some sort of tubular synth over the top. Amazing
9.5/10
Didnt think that they could better Red Alert, but this matches it.
This is an EP to be reckoned with! |
