| I hate that guy who does the MC for Tiesto. He's annoying and corny. In fact, I don't like MC's in any trance set that I'm listening to. Thank goodness this is only limited to Tiesto since I have yet to hear any MCs in other dj sets I listen too. |

sets are recordings of a party so you must not forget that the music played in the set is for the people to get them dance in that club or party. Most MC's have a positive contribution to the night itself. When you listen to the recording most lines of MC's are stupid but on the night itself it can really get the people going.
You should go to that club or party rather then bashing an MC or DJ without being there at the night itself. |

How do you explain the tons of other djs who do well off without MCs? If you truly need an MC to get the crowd going then that is a testament to the type of music you are playing that night. Maybe you need to select better tunes, right? I don't mind them in the the beginning or ending of a set, just not while I'm listening to the music. |

What I meant with getting the crowd going is that an MC can make a crowd really really crazy instead of crazy.
The Netherlands is one of the few countries which always had a lot of MC's in the EDM. Without a MC the party is not complete, it's a tradition overhere. Last week I went to Sander Kleinenberg in a small club and even there somebody gets on the mic a few times in the evening.
The crowds in the netherlands are spoiled. As a DJ you really have have some skills. If you don't mix right and don't drop the right tunes the people will not dance and even an MC can't make that change. But when you drop a proper tune and have a good build up and a MC starts dropping some good lines the crowd will go nuts. |

Sure an MC can be annoying at times but they're just trying to do their job I guess... they do their dirty work trying to get the crowd pumped up but if the music is right they will only need to do their thing 2 or 3 times during a set.
But honestly MC Stretch must have taken some weird drug last saturday during Tijs' set, only 50 minutes and his voice could be heard like 20 times or something, that's just crazy. I haven't downloaded the video but with the music Tijs played in that short set anyone could have gone crazy without the MC... he didn't ruin the whole experience for me because I totally digged that set, but damn, just imagining that bald dude interrupting every 2 minutes lol I just feel bad for those who were there lol
Not all MC's are bad they just gotta know when to step in and when to shut up and let the music flow |

the set was on 'Museumplein' at the Radio538 square. The there were commercial pop artists and pop singers the whole day. There wasn't a real trance or EDM crowd, well maybe 1 percent. The rest was ordinary MTV/ 16 year old people. So what do you expect a very deep set with no MC?? Come on. See the situation. |
