Hardly an inspired choice. FA would want to have a serious look at themselves imo.

Scolari would have made for one hell of an interesting choice, not exactly the most PC of characters.

if this goes through it'll be a cop-out. We didn't have the balls to get Hiddink in time, Scolari saw what vultures our press are. Let's face it, McClaren does most things now with the team, so we won't have much of a change. I'd have loved big sam to get it, but like with cloughie he's too outspoken & speaks his mind which won't go down well with the scum upstairs.

I think the rest of the world is probably celebrating more than England upon hearing this news

Can't believe they have gone for mclaren.

With all the managers of the world who they could have had, why pick one who has achieved little or nothing in his career.

With rooney breaking his foot, and now this. Its really has been a week for english football and its fans.

I read something about Curbishley and Pearce coming on as his Lieutenants, which isn't all bad. Still, McClaren was the easy way out and as usual, the FA took it.

With Rooney likely out, I"ve lost a lot of optimism for the Three Lions next month. Probably another 16 or QF exit, as per usual.
