| as i said before avalon is more aesthetically pleasing (and the sound is ing awesome too) but circus has a better vibe crowd wise. |

You all forgot to mention that CIRCUS venue has a big cool outdoor patio with a Mexican grill for those that like to grub on some good eatings!
Not only that but I didn't see if anyone mentioned that CIRCUS also has 3 rooms of music going off.
I don't see anything gross about Circus, Bas... you must just have a phobia. :nervous: |

Nah I just enjoy a more 'clean' feeling atmosphere, I alawys feel kinda dirty after leaving Circus. I don't know, maybe it's because it looks like a big ol warehouse now :conf: |

yea that guy rocks.he's very active in his bathroom attending duties (pun partially intended)and always super positive.
definatley go to both places. that makes for a helluva night |

Mr. Dave, I usually agree with your comments about 99% of the time, and for the most part I agree with the above, except for the bathroom attendent at Avalon. Clovis is right on this one, that guy certianly adds to the experience. He does his job with a lot pride, takes it seriously, and seems to enjoy it. Besides keeping everything clean and orderly, he may also be there to keep an eye on things. This guy is pretty cool, and I can't imagine him saying anything if he wasn't tipped, unless he was disrespected someway.
Anyway, the question is how is Avalon ? Mostly everybody is right, it's worth checking out Spundae, then Avalon on Sat. Heaven on Friday does bring in some good talent as well. Most people don't realize it, but Arena, where Heaven is at, is where the roller skating scene in Austin Power's Goldmember was filmed. |

| Avalon THRASHES spundae as far at atmosphere and sound and quality of venue. I just wish they played more trance these days, they used to be the best when it came to trance, nowadays its mostly house... =((( |

plan on going to avalon for the first time to see lawler. my questions:
*what time will lawler's set start and for how long?
*what are your opinions on these guys: Sean Miller John Do & Justin Gourley?
*i've driven past avalon several times and it's always PACKED. what time do you recommend going?
*is the crowd cool? good vibe? drunken dumbasses who start ?
*damn, till 0700am? at what hour does it usually slow down... or is it still rockin at 0645am? |

| The downstairs bathroom attendent ruins the "bathroom experience" for me because he is always hustling for money. I know the major part of his income comes from tips, but does he have to be grabbing you and smacking you on the back the whole time. I just wanna wash my hands and I don't need to hear "Get me next time brutha" and "I know you won't forget me next time" when I am leaving. Then I feel guilty for not tipping the dude for a paper towel. Now he is always upbeat and that has to be rough when all night long you hang out in a nasty guy's bathroom with dude's zoning out. But just stop the 24/7 hustle and let me dry my hands in peace! |

| another thread where there are differences of opinions, imagine that....but anyway returning to the issue in hand......bottom line is that AVALON is the the hottest club in California, thats hands down....the crowds are totally different, even tho its most of the regulars that go2 circus and avalon all the time, u just feel different....i personally dont like the vibe @ spundae , and that is why i minimize my visits......on the other hand when you talk about Avalon, last year i practically lived @ Avalon....Sound comparison is pointless, but the whole mainfloor with the balconies, and Spider upstairs i dunno i think its a wonderful place.....but thats just if you ask me....(OH AND FYI, YOU CAN ORDER FOOD UPSTAIRS, FOR THOSE OF YOU GIVING SPUNDAE A +1 FOR HAVING FOOD.....AND ALSO WHY EVEN BOTHER ORDERING ANYTHING, AFTER YOU COME OUT THRASHED ALL U NEED IS A BACON WRAPPED HOTDOG WITH KETCHUP AND MUSTARD AND EXTRA ONIONS IN YOUR SYSTEM...)but anyway, i also have to give Avalon a +1 for thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhe most important thing of all......the TALENT TALENT TALENT......residencies, tag teams, promo parties,Sasha SASHA SAsHa SaSHa.....SASHA has spun @ avalon a total of 8 times since DEC of 04' and he has another couple scheduled this year (ive seen him 6 out of 8)thats like wowowowow amazing right there....its no comparison, hands down period......but then again this is a free country and everybody has their own opinion and their right to establish one guiltfree...im out....PIG |

oh and also i forgot to mention, the black bathroom attendant @ AVALON is the in .....ive tipped that guy so many 5dollar bills now t hat i think of it man damn.....but all i know is t hat when i need to GO i NEED to GO....i cant wait in that in line.....i always get dibbz, but then again i guess it costs $5.00 to take a piss....
oh and anybody complaiing about Avalon being packed, and washing machine central.....

its the sacrifice u need to make to have sucha bangin club.....would u rather it be empty....? i mean i dont get it....
and also about getting in and lines and this and that bull......i have never ever ever ever waited @ AVALON once in line......max maybe like 5-10 minutes and ive had my entourage with me.....all you need is eyecontact with the right people, and that in it your set.....i think honestly AVALON gives too much liberty to the clubbers if you ask me....alota dirty goes down inside those doors, which i have personally witnessed and also cintributed 2.....but i in love that place |
