Nice review guys! Seems like it was fun!

Makes me excited for tiesto being 2 weeks away in Boston :)

B]Overview:[/B] Just look at that tracklisting once and you'll know that Tiesto is back in business! His mixing was right on, his track selection was amazing (pure trance), and his attitude was fantastic. The Tiesto of yesterday, with his groupies, long conversations with freinds, and leaving the records spinning unattended for over 5 minutes at a time is gone. The new Tiesto lives, back to the glory of the past. He was also as humble as I've ever seen him --- happy the entire time, no Christ pose, no monitors flashing his name, no non-stop playing of Traffic.

^ Great review im GLad you had fun and man I told you tiesto is gonna be back :D I wanna go now !!! :p

Ok, I'll start off by apologizing for the length of the review. I'm still high as ing hell: can't feel my fingers, my computer screen is warping before my eyes, and I'm hearing imaginary music. I just decided to write everything that was on my mind. Thanks for reading!

Overview: Just look at that tracklisting once and you'll know that Tiesto is back in business!

Memorable Tracks: When Tiesto dropped the 1st Play version of Playmo (a song that I've been addicted to recently), I really lost it --- anyone who saw me (I believe one or two tranceaddicts did) can say that I went absolutely nuts and started leaping into the air like a madman. Amazing track, mixed into the set perfectly by a masterful DJ who loved the party just as much as we did. Moving on to the closer, the wonderful Mr. Devant, who practically gave the already near-perfect performance of Tiesto a run for its money. Played solid hard trance followed by some high-bpm electro-house that really turned the party into sheer mayhem. I really would appreciate some IDs (I don't think any TAs stayed for Serge's set though...) on some of the tracks he closed with as they were absolutely fantastic: a perfect mixture between hard narcotic beats (think Infected Mushroom), dark filthy house (think Timo Maas), and containing idyllic breakbeats that made you think you were at a Paul van Dyk outdoor show in 2002!

Crowd: After arriving at 10:30 and waiting until midnight b/c of an misunderstanding with my freinds who I believed to be coming earlier. I waited on line for about 15mins and, after chatting with some interesting folks, got into the club to the sound of Kai. I must say, the crowd looked bad in places --- a lot of huge guidos, meatheads, and FOBs. But the funny thing was that the lovely combination of Kai, Tiesto, and Serge must have made them a lot more mellow than they usually are. I had Guidos apologizing to me for bumping into me and FOBs approaching me to tell me stories about the last Tiesto show that they had gone to. Not only that, but the women were fantastic! All of them seemed willing to party with my freinds and I and all of them were drop dead gorgeous, with or without boyfreinds that were cool enough to let us into the dancing/drinking circles. I know that one of my freinds, who is indifferent to dance music (he doesn't like music at all) and who goes with me to drink and to dance with/pick up women was most pleased, and he left around 3:30 with some amazing chick that was willing to abandon the party just for him (and his huge wallet haha --- rich bastard!). The club was packed like a can of sardines, yet it was oddly fun --- I think that I prefer a packed event like that to a semi-full one, as the sense of comradery that is achieved with fellow clubbers when you're standing back to back is truly the essence of EDM culture.

Tranceaddicts: Finally, I'd like to thank the TAs that made it out to this and made the night all the more enjoyable for me. Thanks Micha --- you really are the man, coming from Amsterdam and having such a huge club experience, it's really an EDM education to talk to you. Thanks to Mike --- though I didn't get a chance to talk to him, I felt proud to be part of and organization that has such illustrious representation on stage (hehe --- what I wouldn't do to meet Tiesto...). I'm sorry to one of the TAs whose name I cannot remember but who helped me search for the right way to party and who is quite possibly the best dancer I have ever seen in my life (the dude that was ripping it up on stage @ Ferry --- as Kadomony and Robdawg say, you have no bones, man, no bones!). Thanks to DJ Skills who I ran into at the end and just briefly said hello to (you really missed out on Serge's set, man --- next time forget about work and follow my advice haha). And last but most definately not least, an enormous thank you to Sveta, who I met for the first time at this party. I had quite a lengthy conversation with her right up until Tiesto spun 'Playmo' and have to say that a conversation with Sveta is enough to brighten even the grouchiest person's day.

Thanks for reading those of you that have gotten this far, and again I apologize for my drug-induced ramblings!

nice review dude, sounds like you had an awesome time! nice to see there are still some cool TAs here and not just anti-superstar dj members that try and ruin every thread. hope you get to go tonight too. :)

It's tough to ruin every thread when there are like 8 for this one event.

oh nelly... his track selection looks the exact same AS EVERY OTHER TRANCE DJ IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW, WELL-KNOWN OR NOT. what the 75% ignorant-in-trance-music-except-Tiesto crowd doesnt know is that Scot Project was the first DJ ever to play "playmo" (@ Avalon last summer)...

ehhh idk, im only now starting to realize that 40$ for ANY DJ is just ridiculous... where were these "TRANCE IS THE BEST MUSIC EVER, AND SO IS DJ TIESTO!" people when Scot Project or Above and Beyond (i heard it wasnt real packed) or Jon O'Bir or Ferry came into town (with better mindblowing music and not always the same ol top-40 trance hits playlist)... and you mentioned the hot women... of course a Tiesto party brings hot women, hot 16-20 year old girls are the ones that buy all the new PURE TRANCE or ULTRA TRANCE compilations of the past few years, where all of Tiesto's music is on... its not like "looooooove comeeeees againnnnn" isnt still on heavy rotation on KTU... whoops, it is.... the types of people u see on myspace with Tiesto's music on their page have their favorite clubs list with "Neptunes, DNA, Webster Hall" and Crobar because of the other time they saw Tiesto....

...sorry for my rant, may seem like a hater but you could have brought an Alex MORPH, a DuMonde, an anybody in the trance world and the tracklist would be the same... if u think the "showman" aspect of Tiesto is gone, i heard some stories about a gig of his at WMC that would beg to differ... think about it this way... with 40$ admission, you paid 10$ for every hour he played... was it worth it?

I don't know how much it was last night because I was comped, but I'm told it will be $40 reduced on Bradley's list. :eyespop:

Ok, you def are a hater hehe. Now that that's out of the way...

That doesn't make it bad, it just makes it unoriginal. If you mean that a DJ has to have an original track selection to be good, then I'll fiercely disagree with you. Each DJ has their own style, their own way of running a party, their own way of mixing popular songs, not to mention their own persona (face it, many people go for the DJ himself, and could care less about the music --- whereas I deplore that idea, a little idol worship can be fun sometimes).

That's just because you're a DJ yourself (and a producer now --- congratulations!). I'm sure Tiesto wouldn't pay 40 bux to see PvD... I know the comparison is terrible, but u know, I enjoyed myself and I would have probably just bought drugs with the 40 bux, so no harm no foul.

Ok, dude, I was just mentioning that to add another perhaps humerous perhaps interesting observation to my review. You know me a hell of a lot better to know that I'm not the kind of guy that rudely hits on women and goes clubbing to pick up chicks. I'm a tranceaddict, I go for the music.

Ok, it isn't fair to judge a DJ by his fans. There are countless reasons why certain people go to see certain DJs. Certain DJs have worse crowds than others, but that isn't a reflection of their musical talent or quality of their productions (well, maybe except for JP hehe).

alright alright youve got valid points, im not gunna argue :)

There were two big screens, but oddly placed in a perpendicular fashion to the stage, further back over the dancefloor. As such, it was impossible to look at both the stage and the screen, and I chose the stage, so I have no idea what was on the screens. What glipses I did see, however, were of Window Media Player type visuals, sort of like the ones that they always have at Psytrance shows.
