Given the fact that in real life you can focus on close and far distances at the same time, and that is possible in a screen, I guess this is the sort of resolution he's talking about.

However, being better than reality would be confusing and unrealistic at first. Once you get used to that, you realise vision in real life is flawed.

i think to do something that like would require a very high tech renderer and a screen that covers at least 270 degrees of your field of view, which in normal humans is the full field of view. id love to play something like an air combat simulator in something that looked like real life

One day graphics in games will be so good that I will no longer be ashamed to call Lara Croft my girlfriend. I will still be ashamed to call Pikachu my drinking buddy.
wizniz
would that be possible?

if we're limited to whats what, the screen couldnt handle more than real life, no?

you'd need away to make the depth appear on a 2d screen, i dont think any amount of high-tech rendering technology can make 2d appear true 3d, maybe hologram renders or something?

Virtual Reality should be the next step in gaming. I don't know why they haven't tried to push that angle more.

technology might not be ready for it yet, it might be possible to do it well now, but whoever did it would need to do a good job. virtual reality is gaining popularity, with those 3d glasses for computers or whatever
