Okay, I hate to be the first guy home to review JXL and love @ 4thB tonight; however, there's no way around it.
This guy BROUGHT IT. I was told by a friend of my that JXL rocks, and it was awesome.
It was musical; it was vocal; he sereneded the audience, and there was a connection.
Easily better than Hernan. Had to bust out before Victor, but I'm sure he brought the house down.
BTW, and I don't mean to be too bitchy, but the girl working the door for realivze tribe needs to get a clue: the place wasn't going to be anywhere close to full--why bring the attitude? It was the only part of the night that was a downer.
Hope everyone had a good night, and Deslyn, you rock. |

1st time seeing the guy...
i was super impressed. i wish i could of seen more of his laptop/big mixer set up but the way the booth was set up it was too hard to see anything.
regardless... mushroom, youthful, drift away! everything sounded soooooo good. he also ended the night with a new production he & UNKLE are working on. really cool!
i stuck around for about half of Victor's set... you've got some talent vic, the crowd was eating it up. |

4th & B wasn't anywhere near as crowded as it usually gets in the past months but it was still a very fun night!
The only time I saw JXL was at a rave last year and he still brought the house down with his one hour set. This time, it was a little over 2 hours I believe but man, Jefe said it right: "It was musical; it was vocal; he sereneded the audience, and there was a connection."
It was just that, it was everything! He opened very nicely with some bangin tracks then played some vocal stuff like Depeche and some old original tracks then went to bangin hard then melodic etc.
I wasn't able to stick around for Vic's set either because I left at 2 AM so I could get atleast SOME rest for traffic school this morning :boo:!!!! That's a whole different story but atleast the person sitting next to me asked if I smoked bud and we matched bowls on our hour break....the 2nd half of class went by fast haha :tongue3
Thumbs up though for Junkie! I loved the music and enthusiasm from him and I actually didn't mind having some space to actually dance like I wanted to! |

Was looking forward to going Friday night. As I stepped in the door after work Friday I noticed the hot water heater dripping. I thought the bottom drain was loose so I attempted to tighten it. Bad move as the more I twisted the more it leaked.
Waterheaters sure hold a bunch of water.
Got it replaced Saturday morning @ 8:00am and $1300 later. One of the bitches in having a old house is everytime something breaks not only do you have to replace everything associated with the broken piece but it's usually not standard and will cost $$$.
Sucks for me but sounds like a great time I missed.

| we had a good time too. surely wasn't as packed as other dates (and hella dudes:nervous:) but i was feelin' the percussionist with the first dj, and he had some weird styles with that antennae thing. JXL was tight and Victor always holds his own. gogo's looking cute as usual - did you girls like the lower stage setting? it kind of hid you from anyone beyond 10 feet back. |
