not so much with my mom. I like teasing her and stuff and she usually doesent have the sense of humor for that. my dad on the other hand has a very similar personality as I do so we get along just fine. we're more like buddies than father/son.

I live with my mum & I do have to be very firm & sometimes rude to get her to do things, she needs a good kick up the backside to do the simple things like paying bills & so on..... As for my dad, we've had a very hate-hate relationship, I dissappoint him, but since he moved out into a small flat, it's been me who's done everything, not his 'favourite' my brother so he's got a newfound respect for me & I can tolerate him when i dont have to see him. I get on better with my Nana (and did with my grandad) they're more like friends than grandparents

Just like you i've realized that i do get along with my mom (my father passed away when i was a lot younger) but no, i can not talk about everything with her etc (some things are like 'never asked, never told.') and i guess thats for the best. If i stay out of trouble (with whatever) i've got a lot of freedom :)
I do would like to move out soon, i'm 18 now, hope to be gone when i'm about 20/21 (sooner isn't a realistic option in my position, rather a waste of money and extra traffeling time) i'll stay here while i'm in school in this city for sure, after that i might have to get a room somewhere else and come home in weekends orso.. i'll surfive living at home :D |

I get a long with my parents fine, always have. However, they are sometimes too overly protective of me. It gets to the point where I almost feel I can't do anything without disapointing them, because my sister has been completely messed up and untrustworthy, and I've tried to be nothing like her, by going to school, getting good grades, working steadily at a job, being financial responsible and not getting in with the wrong crowd. Sometimes I wish I had more freedom, especially because I'm 20 years old, almost 21, but I guess while I live with them still, I have to go by some of their rules. In a year i'm moving out, to a University, so by then i'll have more freedom and not have to worry about disapointing them. I can go out and party and not have my parens worrying about me all the time, calling me to know where I am and a bunch of other that they do that bugs the heck out of me. But I love them still, and know they care about me, and thats part of the reason why they worry so much...and of course b/c of my sis.

I love my parents and yes I do get along with them just fine. I just hate it when they start dramatizing a situation beyond its normal circumstances. Then again I realize that they do that because they care. Either way, it's a win-win situation for me. I mess up, they pick up the pieces and let me know where I went wrong. It's good times if you ask me.
