Help: Car amp question

Here's the situation: I bought a hoopty for the winter to keep my good car off the road (want to slow the rust process, plus it's lowered and I don't want to be a volunteer snow plow for the city). When I bought the car, it had a dead battery and my factory radio needed a code to operate it. The owners I purchased it from didn't have that information and the dealer was giving me problems, so I thought to myself "What a perfect time to replace this stock junk radio with a nice headunit."
I went ahead and bought a nice Alpine receiver and it sounded great for about 2 months. Fast forward ahead to now and the speakers are starting to go bad (front passenger rattles with every bass hit and the rear passenger blew out).
I've started looking around at a cheap setup to upgrade the speakers and I've found what I want. The only problem now is that both pairs of speakers require a min of 50W, my headunit is only 45W x 4. Let the amp shopping begin...
The amp I'm currently looking at is 70 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (100 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms). The front speakers I want have an impedance of 4 ohms (260W peak) and the rear speakers have an impedance of 2 ohms (330W peak).
My question is: Is it possible for me to run a pair of speakers that are 2 ohms and a pair of speakers that are 4 ohms off of the same amp?
Front speakers
Rear speakers

| 45Wx4 should be fine for your 50W speakers, you don't wanna blow them. |

yes, its totally possible, but you're not going to get the best power transfer that way. whats the output impedance of the amplifier? |

| you dont HAVE to buy an amp just becuse your HU puts out 45watts and the speakers can handle 50.. i dont think any speaker requires a minimum does it? if anything it may be better to invest in better speakers [or more sensitive ones] and just run it from the HU, while still saving some money in the end |

Blow them? The minimum power wattage is 50W, they're capable up to 260W (front) and 330W (rear). |

| well if your gonna power them you might as well get a crossover and make sure only the highs and mids are going through them. |

the difference between 45 watts and 75 watts is minimal if even barely noticable.
plus, you need to think abotu rms. the amp puts out 75 watts rms whcih means it will peak more. speakers you listed are 110watts and 50 watts rms.
you will hear a bigger difference with more sensitive speakers than to add a few watts of power.
may i suggest for a similar amount of money spent:
Focal 165CV
Focal 690CV
keep in mind that in order to increase the sound by 3db[barely noticable] you have to double the power. the rear speakers have similar specs, the fronts have 2db more sensitivity per watt than the pios you want |

I know about Focal, they're about the best speakers you can spend your money on. I plan on putting them in my good car...but not this beater. I only plan on spending $500 on this current setup, and ebay will be my friend in helping me do so.
I think I'm going to change the setup some so I'm running both 2 ohm or 4 ohm speakers. |

| if you said ur getting 4x45w from the headunit i doubt that very much.... 95% of all headunits realistically give out about 13-16w RMS.. and yeah, there is a minimum power u need, think of a sub! sounds like arse unless u give it sufficient power... get an amp, u won't regret it! |

Yeah, I said 45W...not 45W RMS. There is a difference. |
