yup trance & electronica in general is very popular here.. as well as trance, house music is f00kin everywhere! but unfortunatly its the funky pants stuff not the amazin prog stuff hehe

ye, most of the clubs that are worth mentioning here play some form of electronica.. either trance, funky house or hard house.. there are quite a few DnB type clubs flyinm about the place aswell..

as for the music.. its easy to get hold of here.. most decent music shops will sell the big albums that u want

raves..? raves have nearly gone in this country (proper raves i mean) we've moved into the clubs now.. theres no point breakin into a dingy warehouse when the music is better in a nice club :)

well in Perth, the local scene is dominated by drum and bass really... most of the local smaller events are drum and bass events and theres a core crew that really follows that.. BUT.. when the larger events come, such as gatecrasher and ministry... you'll find that the main room is almost always trance/progressive...

as far as clubs go, theres alot of commercial clubs pumpin out top 40 and commercial dance music... umm... and a couple of trance/hard house clubs to cater for the gurners

kinda realised something readin that again.. what i meant was most house music that u hear comin out of ur average radio is funky stuff..

there are v good prog house clubs and producers in the UK. And when it comes to production there is tonnes of prog house comin out this country atm :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

as far as electronic music trends and parties are concerned, i believe that the US is about a year behind you guys, raves were big for you guys, AND then they became big here, trance was big first over seas, THEN big here, raves are disappearing there and clubs are becoming more popular for electronic music over there first, and now its starting to get like that here.. i guess your trends phase in over here, we're just a step behind

ya no other place is bigger in trance and the electronica scne than europe and canada

canada??? har har... don't we all wish there was no bigger place for trance than CANADA. HELLS no... trance isn't even half as big here as it is in europe, maybe in montreal, i dunno. but yeah, over there, they have dance valley and cool stuff like that. in canada, we get edgefest and warped tour. no trance festivals though. we get santa claus and easter parade, but no love parade.

i'm not sayin trance is dead here, but it'd be cool if it got biiger. oh, and this is just my opinion based on being in mississauga, err... toronto area, =P.

It's mostly house out in Western Canada (at least Edmonton). There's usually some hard trance at the raves here though.

The University radio station plays 'techno' on Sunday afternoons. Sometimes it's trance. I've heard some trance mixes on the main radio station here, Power 92, at 3 AM.

Well I guess the scene in Canada isn't too bad...well actualy I should say for the city of Toronto since I can't speak for the rest of the country. Granted it's nowhere as big as it is in Europe and I highly doubt any country will ever be, it still isn't too bad compared to most other places around the world. You will always find good clubs to play whatever music you're into and the scene is always getting bigger around here. We seem to be getting the biggest names in the industry on a weekly basis now, it's incredible for such a small city!

I love Toronto but how I wish I was living in Europe. You guys don't know how lucky you are. One day I will move to Europe because that's where I want to live the rest of my life.

It's not popular here at all. In ppl's mind Trance is Daurde, Public Domain and other chesse. It's pathetic and that's y I enjoy talking to ppl who know a lot about trance. As for clubs/raves, there is no such thing as Trance clubs and i'm not sure what they play at raves. One thing that suprises me though was that DJ Tiesto was in Vancouver in Decemeber. I have no idea y he'd bother here. I mean no one mad e big deal about considering he's one of teh greatest DJ's in the world.
