| i don't live in a tipping country but i'm moving to one (Chile), it seems like a bit of a pain in the ass to constantly give tips |

i think its crap that in places like the US, its the consumer which is expected to subsidise the profit-margins of business (tipping is expected coz the minimum wage is so poor). i will only ever tip in australia when there has been exceptional service- i never got tipped when i worked in retail and the wages arent any different.
so, who tips their mcdonalds staff? :D ;) |

you don't tip micky d's and most REAL restaraunts that make their business through reservations and such don't expect tips and pay their waiters.
if you don't understand the system don't open your filthy mouth.
places like cafes and diner OVER THE YEARS realized that tips and a normal wage will make the waiters way too rich. so the wages remain at around 7 bucks an hour or so with a couple of hundred tips. |

No. Waiters and Waitresses do not earn minimum wage. |
