today's club house seems to be gearing itself more towards trance.

I'm not a massive fan of the tripe I'm hearing in clubs today by swedish house mafia, tocadisco and such but I have noticed a definite increase in the amount of "buildups", "breakdowns" and big basslines. Stuff like Angello's is what I notice this the most in. It's the typical formula which makes people get so caught up in the energy that they don't really care what they're listening to. I went to an event called 360 a couple weeks ago and during a set filled with the usual club tracks I was delighted to hear faithless - insomnia get dropped. Probably the only song I enjoyed all night.
Whether this thread has a purpose or not, I really don't know. :D |

yeah i totally agree with club house leaning towards trance and that the energy is so high they don't care, lol probably something subliminal but mostly it seems to affect dames more; lol idk but yeah i totally agree with ya.

house isn't aloud to have energy?
just because it doesn't have disco-style vocals doesn't mean its not house people.
ps. big basslines is not something "trancy" |

+1
It IS evident tho that a significant amount of house has
more trance elements than before, and vice-versa.
A lot of trance has housey elements in it that it simply didnt before... |

stop stressin about simularities between sub genres, when an artist is making a song he should concentrate on what sounds good and not stress 'oh no im leanin 2wards trance this will have change' I heard a guy say this is house in a 'trance' set by some inhouse and yea i wanted 2 punch him. just enjoy it.
Im all for removing Sub Genres its 'Electronica' |
