um... yeah

what a night! I thoroughly enjoyed Holden's performance. While a bit minimal both in music and crowd interaction, I was enjoying the music and company of all fellow TAs.

Thanks for all who came up to support in the penthouse which for some reason got shut down shortly after I was finished spinning. I do appreciate the kind words and am really looking forward to seeing all out to support for the Deekay show in June!

Word on street was 19 S. Wabash afterhours... to which we attended shortly and was cool in concept but is the scene to which I am no longer acquainted with anymore and left for Andy's in hopes to spin at my first afterhours appearance... which is to be continued another day!

I hope to get some help from mr. delobbo and have a gallery similar to his for all of the pics I took last night and from all past events to which I have captured many candid shots of a few TAs here :)

for the hour that i was there....i have to say he bored me to death....now that could be a result of coming from Tiesto, where the energy was flowing...or maybe it was just James

It's a tough comparison to make bro... If you're really into Tiesto, and just bangin' trance in general, odds are Holden isn't going to be your thing. ;)

Nice meeting you too.

After a bunch of us stopped doing a tag set at afters, I popped in that CD you gave me. The general consensus from everyone was pretty positive (I'd give more details, but I'd have to listen to it again when I'm not exhausted - maybe later in the week).

Awesome! Thanks! Gonna make a few EQ adjustments for sure based on listening to again & some other feedback, but anything further is greatly appreciated. How'd spinning afters go?

i think alot of it had to do with the Vibe as Congress and then the Vibe at Vision....i do listen to Holden.....but it was just way to mellow for me last night....

Ya I can't really imagine seeing both Tiesto and Holden in the same night. They are pretty much polar opposites. And Holden stole my soul last night. Also, was anyone here able to ID anything? I def. went crazy for Big City and The Wheel. What else can you remember?

Was nice bumping into Rocky at Vision during an overall crazy night. I haven't had a night like Saturday in about a year I'd say. Tiesto first and then Holden second. The main reason I even went to Tiesto was because I knew it was the only chance I had to get my friends to see a trance DJ.

They ing loved it.

So that was good news. Its always better to party the way you want with the people you want to be with. Well, my friends who came to Holden didnt stay too long, after a very energetic Tiesto set, Holden was 'ambient' by comparison (at first at least). I got into the set pretty quickly, but I definitely don't think its his best. I preferred the latter half of his set, some great deep and smooth tracks in there. The first half was quieter and more in the style of 'at the controls,' and although I do enjoy it to a certain degree, I wasn't feeling it too much last night.

Great night overall, B+/A-.

razzi.

Had a great time @ Vision...but I must say Holden was verrrry mellow compared w/his last few Chicago appearances

Forgot to say nice tunes from whomever was up in the penthouse while I was up there briefly. That place is pretty well hidden. I had to ask Rowina for directions :haha:

Nice. afters was just a bunch of friends tagging between some TTs, CDJs, Ableton, and a couple guitars. Kinda like an acoustic / electronic jam session =) Pretty fun.

Speaking of which, a friend I was talking to at Holden said Nic Fanciulli & Paul Woolford are looking for an afterparty to spin at when they come to town. He asked me if I'd be interested. Every afterparty I've had has been just a bunch of my friends, and I'm guessing that might turn out to be a lot bigger and could get out of control. Any of you had any experience with a large afterparty? Did your stuff get trashed?
