I personally like Amoeba Music on haight (the end of haight).
If I'm looking for a copy of something or other, my chance of going into a record store and finding it are slim to none. I go online and search 1000 record stores and bam I find one at a good price.
So for me going to a physical record store is good for used music at a discount price. This is what amoeba is good at. It buys back SF used records and resells them. There are no listening stations, so you have to know your stuff and know what's good just by track name alone.
Depending on what you are looking for this might be a good fit, otherwise there are many record stores in this general area that are more or less like normal DJ record stores (amoeba is more like a normal customer friendly CD store. Like an independent Tower records or something). |

| I used to go to Skills in Berkeley and also Primal Records (same area off of Telegraph in Berkeley). Best places to go in the east bay imo. |

| Thanks, I actually went to Amoeba today. You could spend forever in there looking through their stock. They said they get very little trance though. There is a place across the street called Reverb records though that had some good stuff. They like Trance there! |
