Headphone amplifiers - How many here use them?

Anyone here use a headphone anplifier? I just bought one from www.electric-avenues.com for 60 USD including shipment to bring out the life in my headphones on my new iRiver H140 (which will soon have Rockbox open-source firmware installed on it!).
Who here uses them and with what headphones?
For me: the Sony MDR-V6. |

| I built myself a CMOY headphone amp.. it was pretty basic but it did a really nice job of powering my AKG K401 headphones, which are kinda hard to drive. But with the amp, a high quality source is essential, otherwise you hear unwanted bg hum (and it's not the headamp's s/n or anything). |

| 1w is severely underpowering for nice headphones. the biggest gain is super CRISP sound across the whole spectrum :D |

Increase in sound quality, brings out the life in your headphones. Just don't use on a sucky source, though. |

| i use one in the studio, but only because i need to drive 4 to 5 sets of headphones at at a time. |
