I think it's kind if boring and stale right now. I'd say it was the best since the 90s two years ago. Incidently enough I've been playing and listening to a lot of 06-09 stuff. That's when I fell into it also and I can't turn down really good groovy plink plonk.

I'm a big fan of the Dumb Unit sound:

For whatever reason yesterday I remembered this video:

I re-watched some of it. Later on in the day I saw this new video suggested, literally posted 2-3 days ago:

Basically the same thing. Also, in the second one, it seems like there are some places where the video stops and then starts again, and the same loop is still playing, so it was even longer in person I think.

Never been a fan.

But heard him at CDV with Zip on Mayday this year - so good. Great vibes at that party.

That's nice that it was a good set at that event.

I guess for me, when you take into account how much a DJ at that level makes for a few hours, plus how much the crowd is hoping for a good set, the kind of "loose", silly sets in the videos seem a bit out of place. That is just my opinion though.

Awful Awful Awful

Amazed he gets paid to do it

I get the feeling that these "personality" DJs like Villalobos and Troxler play at parties where being ed up behind the decks, playing weird drug tunes, doing impromptu B2Bs and snogging other men is all part of the twisted party vibe, and the punters at these places actively want to see this kind of .

I understand what you are saying, however, I happened upon another set from the same stage at whatever event this is, and I found it to be a really banging techno set.

I don't know the context of the performances, ie. who was playing the main sets, or warm-up/after party, etc. But it seems to me the crowd was more into the banging stuff then the "experimental" mixing.

honestly how much drugs do you guys think Ricardo takes while behind the decks?

I am not trying to be naive but I actually think it might just be heavy alcohol consumption...

I am honestly asking hahahaha

I've been like Ricardo many times.. Its usually a combination of Vodka, adderall, Cocaine, and no sleep:tongue3

Does he really go hard ? or is he just a weirdo with a glass of wine here and there?
Trancelover03591
No idea. Maybe all of the above.
