I don't know if defend is the right word, but on the Andrew Denton - Enough Rope show last night, Leunig says that as a good christian, you should "forgive your enemy". Leunig was responsible for this cartoon about Israel

I found this interesting, as what it really amounts to is that Bush is as bad as Osama for wanting him dead, (I don't necessarily believe that) and he would be better off saying "we forgive you for your faults Osama"

Bloody christians :p

He has a point though, in many ways Bush is as bad as Osama.

Gotta admit tho, the terrorists can't just be left to continue the attempts to destroy our society, no matter what their arguement. Coz, leaving them alive IS a risk to the world.

I'll correct myself, in many ways what these two leaders stand for are just as bad. Osama orchestrated the abhorrent and unlawful attacks against the Twin Towers to pursue an ideological goal. Bush successfully fabricated a fallacious casus belli in order to wage a war illegal under international law to pursue a political goal.

Yup, that must be it.

Well, it's an opinion anyways.

an opinion yes, but does it hold more or less weight than these following statements:

"Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction." - Dick Cheney August 26, 2002

"We know for a fact that there are weapons there."
- White House spokesman Ari Fleischer, press briefing, Jan. 9, 2003

"We know that Saddam Hussein is determined to keep his weapons of mass destruction, is determined to make more."
- Colin Powell, remarks to UN Security Council, Feb. 5, 2003

"We have sources that tell us that Saddam Hussein recently authorized Iraqi field commanders to use chemical weapons - the very weapons the dictator tells us he does not have." - George W. Bush, radio address, Feb. 8, 2003

"I don't believe anyone that I know in the administration ever said that Iraq had nuclear weapons." - Donald Rumsfeld, Senate appropriations subcommittee on defense hearing, May 14, 2003

Apples and oranges. Using false information to invade a country is, I hate to say this, common political bull. I'm not condoning it, but I think it's naive to say that our government, and this administration in particular, are the only to have ever been involved in something like this at one point or another.

Using fanaticalism to attack innocent civilians when the real enemy is just your own ignorance and greed is also common. It's just rarely ever that devistating.
