BitTorrent Warner Deal

It looks like BitTorrent & Warner have made a deal which will provide legal video content to be downloaded for a nominal fee. The article goes on to say that a well-seeded movie would take less than 10 minutes to download. Rogers, Bell and all the other ISP's better quit the throttling so some customers can reap the benefits of this service, ya know?

I think that sucks. I see the convieniance in downloading movies, but this is how i think a new movie came out and you download it you sit there at home or whatever and watch it.
I don't see the fun in that, i still enjoy going to the movies and never download them. Back in the day i did download some but that was after i seen it.
That takes out all the fun about movies me thinks. Good ol fashin movie theater ftw. |

Yes, such is the beginning of the end of the record store. All hail the laptop DJ. |
Release Records closed it's shop not too long ago and moved towards an exclusive "online-only" business model.
The overhead costs of running a record shop versus an online store are just too big nowadays. |

I never bought the "don't steal CDs, you'll ruin the experience of purchasing it." I don't really see the experience of driving to circuit city, buying it, opening it and playing it. Its why iTunes has become so successful.
however, going to movie theaters will always beat out watching it at home. The whole aspect of having an audience with you makes it wonderful. |

| I don't know how well this is going to be received. Once you pay the money to download the movie, you're gonna be re-uploading it for others to download. So basically, you're paying Warner Brothers to distribute its product to its customers. Nice try Warner Brothers!! |

Yes they are, but you'll still be the one distributing it. It will be your bandwidth and your machine being used, not WB's. |
