| How long should this take on WinXP Pro w/ only USB 1.1? On my device (40 GB), it's still at around 2 % of Phase 1 after 15 minutes. How long am I looking at and is it safe to unplug the unit from USB with this running? What's the worst that can happen if I left this running for 8 hours, it still wasn't done with no end in sight, and I unplugged it from USB? Would a format fix the unit should any oddities occur due to this? I shouldn't have enabled ChkDsk, even though I was advised to on the day I got the unit. I need to be up & running with it in under 4 hours. |
