Heres my review and leave me alone because it actually is a review you crazies!
Saw the movie last week.
Basically the combination of ballroom dancing and Antonio Banderas is the perfect recipe for a great movie. Obviously, the the plot went nowehere, how the hell was he made a "teacher" immediately? I kept waiting for the story to reveal his past, like that his wife died in some unfortunate ballroom dancing accident and thats why he's kinda lonely and sad, hahaha but no that never happened. Stupid plot, no big surprise.
The dancing was good, especially all the actual ballroom dancers. "Morgan" was very good. The kids were cute, but all looked thirty years old. It was very convenient that everyone in detention could bust a move, freestyle. Awesomess.
Bottom line, the movie was what I expected, retarded. I wanted to see it because I love dancing movies and my heart belongs to Antonio.
PS. Im surprised you guys didnt notice "RUFIO" from Hook. He was one of the main kids, except I IMDB"d him and hes 31 years old!!! :eek: |

There are so many good films being released and so many formulaic films like these are released that it seems like we can do without a film like TAKE THE LEAD.But guess what,this ain't your average coming-of-age inspiring story.This is rather more fun and effective drama powered by fantastic dance sequences,with the aid of Benderas who leads the kids.
The entire film depends on Benderas' energy and wit.He fills the film with energy and wit and excites everyone in the film.I really enjoyed the superbly choreographed dance sequences as it brings about different cultures together and shows how much fun it could be.It's really enthralling.
A finely made entertaining film with a different treatment to an old formula.Surprise is on their side. |
