Adidas to build mini-World Cup stadium in downtown Berlin
Mar 24, 2006

German sporting goods producer Adidas- Salomon will construct a mini-World Cup stadium in the heart of Berlin where international football fans can watch their national teams on multiple giant-sized video screens, the press reported Friday.

Built next to the historic German parliament, the mobile football arena titled 'World of Football' will seat up 10,000 visitors and is estimated to cost almost 10 million euros.

Some 70,000 football fans are expected daily to watch the 64 World Cup games from June 9 through July 9.

Construction of the new stadium, built in the style of Berlin's Olympic Stadium, is due to start on April 18 and to be completed on June 8.

Meanwhile, the new Berlin football arena will also be surrounded by several football fields.

I will be there for the Final match.. ;)
