Sweet, thanks for the new Desktop m8!
Edit: Awww, even though I don't have a widescreen background, it still looks nice... just says "Sander Kleine" instead of "Kleinenberg" :p |

Humm im not sure. That was a small picture of the continents that I colorized to make it all gray. The sucky part is that I had to delete the horizontal lines PIXEL by PIXEL to get that "blinds" effect. |

Any chance you could make a slight alteration for us "non widescreen" losers?
:p |

DUDE!! you did that pixel-by-pixel??
This is photoshop. It can do almost anything for you.

Except instead of using a box like in the example, just use the magic wand selector thing. |

No no. the scan lines in fireworks uses a background/foreground color value to populate the scanlines (and I doubt the spread is 1 pixel even for each single color line. The reason I did a manual line deletion with a 1 pixel spread is because on the lines that look black on the map, are not back but instead TRANSPARENT. My initial decision was to do both horizontal and vertical 1pixel deletions to get a "DOT" effect for the map. That way i can mask an image underneath the map and have the image fill up its background. Too much work because i had to go to bed. (Plus, Photoshop CS does have the scan lines feature, i forgot what its called but you can't do a transparent foreground/background color with this filter)
I see what youre saying with using the magic want to select the lines I want to delete, but this would obviously not work on the map layer itself. In order to utilize the magic wand tool, the filter must be used on a new layer, thus seleting the background/foreground color of the lines. In order to achieve the effect on the Map itself, the transparency must be done on the map layer.
Im no photoshop genius but if anyone can advise me on how to accomplish what I want with the map, without having to do 1 by 1 pizel deletion, that would be awesome :) |

his productions are still top notch though. "This Is Not Miami" and "The Fruit" are up there with his best. |
