I have this problem if I accidently open another version of Fruity Studio and it always comes up with that.
I think only one program can use the asio driver at anytime and that’s why it says it hasn’t got enough outputs.
So basically its saying you can run Fruity studio, but you cannot run win amp because there isn’t any channels free to play the music. |

hey i dont mean to jack this thread, but i have a problem of similar nature.
whenever i have an audio app open using ASIO, i cant use any other audio applications at the same time, including winamp, and sites that have audio...i use the echo audio mia midi card...just wondering if thats just the way it is when you use ASIO. |

When you get this error go into the Task Manager and check to make sure all processes using your sound card have shut down properly. Sometimes the .exes don't disappear and you have to kill them manually via the task manager. That usually happens when they don't close normallly (i.e. a crash), but it sounds like this could be the problem. |

Thats funny, whenever I learn how to play new trance songs I open Fruity, open up a synth, get it to the proper sound, open up winamp and play away until i learn it. I also can accidently play songs on winamp and fruity @ the same time. So am I running ASIO on my sound card? |

Asio allows audio to be recorded and played back at the same time; there wouldn’t be any free channels to play any audio.
You run Asio when using music software because it always tells you to choose asio drivers as it’s the best driver for your music software.
Using standard onboard drivers I can run Fruity and play music at the same time, but it’s a bitch when you want to use loads of powerful vsts.
So Asio drivers can handle all the powerful synths 100% better than standard ones. |
