| i never really played a whole heap of games on my snes, in fact i never actually bought any, only hired them and it came shipped with the super mario bros games. they were very expensive here back then, even compared to prices now. when super return of the jedi came out it was $130! i used to love nba jam, street fighter, mario kart, cricket, donkey kong, empire strikes back :D never played any of the rpg games, i wouldn't have been interested then. |

CHRONOTRIGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though Supermetroid rocks too, and Secret of Mana is just.... WOW, but I prefer the story line of Chronotrigger and it has nice music. And from the metroid game I like the kraid music... repetitive as but it's still nice for the frst 30 seconds.
Oh yeah and LOZ: Link to the Past, that games awesome too. |

i just read this whole thread and can honestly say i've played almost every game mentioned here. lots of good stuff.
My favorite for a long time has been Chrono Trigger.
I played SoM but never finished it and actually dont remember much about it. With all the talk about it here I'll have to re-download it and kill some time.
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past was awesome too. Still play it from time to time.
Super Mario World was also kickass.
Super Metroid was an instant classic. Definitely up there.
I also love the game Top Gear 2. Kind of disappointed it wasnt mentioned. I loved the music in that game and its one of the few racing games (along with pretty much only the PGR series on xbox/xbox360) I thoroughly enjoy.

For me, it has to be Super Metroid.
Insanely tight platforming gameplay, this game had loads to offer. From an insane amount of "hidden" content that provided hours of fun searching around Zebes, to exciting boss battles, and all sorts of action based platforming puzzles, Super Metroid is a game that never lost my attention.
But what is probably the single most memorable part of the game was the absolutely unreal end boss battle.
This probably one of the most rewarding gaming experiences I've ever had in my life, I still play through the game at least once a year.
