I don't care who the DJ is, if I see someone walk in with an iPod and expect to play, I'm throwing something heavy in their direction and walking out.

The old one was like $200 american, so this new one is maybe like $400 canadian?

Off iPods or off CDs... what's the difference besides the "image" you have in your head about it?

Is it _TRULY_ less legit? Didnt ppl used to say that CD DJs were less legit than vinyl ones?

I dont think thats a fair statement to make. One can still not like it, so long as they realise its not necessarily an opinion that carries a lot of merit.

If these tables do in fact operate like CDJs... what's the difference besides this notion in our heads that DJing as such is "a joke"

It just seems to me that with these anyone can think they can become a DJ. I prefer to see a DJ spin using vinyl or cd's, call me old school.

I love how the idea of using CDs is now considered old school!

And I understand your point, so long as ppl release its just this "idea" of how a DJ should DJ thats in their mind.

It seems to me this is functionally the exact same - just that ppl in general like to trash talk iPods and therefore DJing from an iPod must therefore also be non-legit.

You're going through the same motions... if anything, the iPod method one is more convenient and efficient.

Same as many DJs now find using CDs to be more convenient than using vinyl for numerous reasons.
